American Flag Photo in the Golden Hour

A few days ago, I was fortunate to pass by an American flag that was backlit by the setting sun.  It was positively glowing.  When I was sitting at a stoplight, I snapped these quick shots with my cellphone.

For this one, I added a bit of zoom to catch the star spangled banner's red glow!

As of 2025, this flag pole and its patriotic display continue to stand flying near the back entrance to the Atlanta Braves Stadium and the Battery development that surrounds it.

Office Buildings in the Golden Hour

As the sun set, the last rays of sunlight snuck in under low-hanging clouds to bring these office buildings to a high, silvery, shine.  While a beach and a palm tree would be ideal, even in a city, sunsets can be spectacular.

These columns of buildings lie just off of I-285, the Perimeter highway, that encircles Atlanta, Georgia.  They always shine in the evening.  Often, they take on a coppery glow when the sunsets are red.

Within the Cumberland CID, there are some very interesting places to take pictures.  This statue in front of a Latin-influenced restaurant, Cinco, provides an interesting foreground for the shiny new office building in the background.

A Corvette Glows During the Golden Hour Near Sunset

The golden hour near sunset always gives photography subjects a special glow.  I stopped for moment while walking our dog and snapped this quick photo of a Chevrolet Corvette.  In the early evening, you can see that it is a special car and you can feel the potential that it has for speed.
