Smyrna Memorial Cemetery Photos (Smyrna, GA)

We've had a little snow in Smyrna, Georgia, this winter.  I took the opportunity to walk around by the historic Smyrna Memorial Cemetery near the Smyrna Village town center.  These photos were taken with my Fuji Finepix S camera using the Automatic setting.

The old cemetery is small, but it provides a glimpse into Smyrna history and the past.  One thing that is nice about the Village Center area is that it is compact and just the right size for a short walk.  It has shops, city government buildings, a museum, a library, a duck pond, and metal frogs.

It was a cold day for the living.

The headstones remain gray and stoic in all kinds of weather. But, some catch a bit of snow to wear as a hat for a cold winter day.

Gulf Fritillary Butterfly Photo

Here's an interesting shot that I took with my Kodak Z950 back in early September 2012.  It's a shot of a butterfly that had just landed on a flower.  His wings are blurry because they were still moving.  But, his face and the flower are very clear.  I have other shots that are perfectly and uniformly focused.  However, I find this one intriguing.  I believe this butterfly is called a Gulf Fritillary.

Metal Frog Statues at Smyrna Town Center in Georgia

They say that frogs are important indicators of the health of an ecosystem.  If that is true, then I wonder what it says when your frogs a giant, mutated, and made of metal!  Here's one that I spotted doing some thinking near the Smyrna, Georgia, village center.

When composing a photograph, try to use paths or trails to lead people into the photo.  In this picture of Brawner Hall in Smyrna, Georgia, I use the angled sidewalk to lead the viewer into the photo and frame the historic building with trees.

This photo could probably use a little more color and brightness, but I don't edit any of my photos that way. The only thing I do to my photos is crop them a little and level them if necessary.  Anything more than that seems a little dishonest.
