Of course, the civic-minded Arts Sandy Spring (abbreviated ArtSS by their friends) isn't the only group with art installations. I spotted this objet d'art in the yard of a well-to-do home in Sandy Springs.
This statue definitely modern and eclectic. If I were rich, I think I'd go for the Remington Bronco Buster. It would have been nice to have had a little more zoom for this
picture. Something like the Canon PowerShot SX50 12.1MP 50x Optical Zoom Black Digital Camera SX50HS (Google Affiliate Ad)would have worked well
with a 50x optical zoom.

Photo: A Well-Sorted Old Car - 1970s Datsun 510 Sedan
This old car struck my eye today when I was renewing our license plates. It's the kind of well-sorted hot rod that I would have loved to own when I was a kid. I believe it is a 1972 Datsun 510 sedan. Vintage Datsun advertisements used to claim that "Under Our Sedan body, lurks a sports car." I believe these rims bring that sports car out into the open!

It may be a work in progress, but it looks very cool so far! This car made my list of Japanese classics.

Photo: Strange Art in Sandy Springs - Part 1
The City of Sandy Springs is an Atlanta suburb with a large concentration of yuppies and rich people. These are precisely the kinds of people who can patronize the arts. They've erected a few unusual pieces in their city.
This piece at the Sandy Springs Library looks a lot like a radio antenna or oil well. But, it's actually a sculpture. In the early evening it caught the sun just right and looked pretty cool.
